BeBook ebook readers are rebranded versions of Chinese ereaders called HanLin and Onyx.

They all have the same hardware as the HanLin and Onyx models, but they have different variations of firmware installed.

Endless Ideas is based in the Netherlands and sells these particular brand of ebook reader worldwide.

The thing that makes these ereaders unique is their accessibility; they support over 20 different languages and file formats. You're going to be pretty hard-pressed to find a popular ebook format that isn't supported. MP3's and audiobooks are supported too, as well as several document and image file types. The BeBook Neo is Endless Idea's newest ereader. It is now available from some UK stores like Pixmania and Foyles for £255-280. About the only place it sells from in the US is eBay.

It features a 6-inch E Ink screen and has Wi-Fi for buying ebooks using the onboard ebookstore application, and it can even access Google and Wikipedia—it has a basic browser.

It has a Wacom touchscreen for on-screen writing and note-taking, searching, highlighting, activating hyperlinks, etc.

This model is comparable to the Kindle 2 and Sony PRS-600 in size.

It costs around $249(US), €249, £199, $499(AUD).

Pros: extensive format support; low-glare, high contrast screen; SD memory card slot; 512 MB internal memory; daily RSS updates; supports multiple fonts; comes with leather case, USB cable, and earphones; also comes with 150 books pre-installed.

Cons: it doesn't have wireless connectivity or touchscreen capabilities; simplistic design; horizontal buttons correspond to vertical menu selections.

BeBook-Mini (HanLin V5)

BeBook Mini

As you would expect from its name, the BeBook Mini has a smaller 5-inch screen. It is a serious rival to the Sony PRS-300 because it costs the same price and has more features.

It sells for $199(US), €199, £179, $350(AUD).

It works with Adobe Digital Editions and supports DRM-protected PDF and EPUB formats as well as all the formats listed at the top of this page for unencrypted files.

Some features include: SD memory card slot, 512 MB, change font type while reading, supports audio and image files.
